The Tedeschi Trucks Band generally takes the last few weeks of the year off and 2017 is no exception. On Thursday night, the powerhouse 12-piece began their final run of the year, a series of three shows at the Orpheum in Boston.

Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks led the group through “Rollin’ & Tumblin” to kick off the run. Next up was beloved originals “Do I Look Worried” and “Made Up Mind.” The 12-piece then showed off their impressive cover of Derek & The Dominos’ “Anyday.” Later in the set, Tedeschi shined on his signature cover of John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery” complete with a foray into the Grateful Dead’s “Sugaree.”

Guitarist Luther Dickinson emerged towards the end of the set. The North Mississippi Allstar sat-in on covers of “Leaving Trunk,” “Volunteered Slavery” and “Ain’t Wastin’ Time No More.” Susan & Co. then ended the set with “How Blue Can You Get?” The Tedeschi Trucks Band stuck to originals for an encore of “Part Of Me” and “Laugh About It.”
