Tedeschi Trucks Band shared pro-shot video of “I Am The Moon.” The footage comes from the band’s 2022 Red Rocks run in Morrison, Colorado.
“I Am The Moon” is the title track for Tedeschi Trucks Band’s ambitious 2022 recording and film project. The band rolled out the record in four parts — Crescent, Ascension, The Fall and Farewell — throughout Summer 2022.
“I Am The Moon” appears on the first release, Crescent, which arrived on June 3. Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks and company came to Red Rocks for a two-night run on July 29 and 30 as part of their 2022 Wheels Of Soul Tour. Tedeschi Trucks Band delivered “I Am The Moon” on night one as part of a complete performance of Crescent to kick off the cocnert.
“I Am The Moon” sees Susan and keyboardist Gabe Dixon trading verses and the Red Rocks performance also featured saxophonist Steve Berlin of TTB’s Wheels Of Soul 2022 tour mates Los Lobos joining the horn section. Trucks brought the song home with a characteristically fiery solo over the song’s coda.
