Don Was Joins Tedeschi Trucks Band In Tokyo

Tedeschi Trucks Band brought out Don Was during their encore Friday at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The guest bassist sat-in on a cover of The Allman Brothers Band staple, Blind Willie McTell’s “Statesboro Blues.”

Friday’s concert was the first of three for TTB at the Tokyo Dome. Tedeschi Trucks Band’s main set was their typical mix of originals, like “Signs, High Times,” “High & Mighty,” “Shame” and “Midnight In Harlem,” and choice covers like Bob Dylan’s “Down In The Flood,” The Box Tops’ “The Letter” and Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “I Pity The Fool.”
