Tedeschi Trucks Band Busts Out Beatles & James Taylor Covers In Tulsa & San Antonio

The Tedeschi Trucks Band continued their fall tour on Wednesday night in Tulsa and Thursday night in San Antonio. Both shows featured covers the band hadn’t played since their 2016 Beacon Theatre Residency as on Wednesday they dusted off the Beatles’ “I’ve Got A Feeling” and on Thursday they revived their take on “Fire & Rain” by James Taylor.

Wednesday’s version of “I’ve Got A Feeling” marked the band’s first since October 8, 2016 as per Setlist.FM. The TTB initally covered the song from the Beatles’ 1970 LP Let It Be during their 2010 appearance at the Wanee Festival and played it numerous times through the 2016 Beacon run. On Wednesday, the 12-piece ensemble fit “I’ve Got A Feeling” within their 15-song performance at Tulsa’s Brady Theater.

“I’ve Got A Feeling” was performed again by the TTB on Thursday night at the HEB Performance Hall in San Antonio. For the encore, the group began with their first “Fire & Rain” since October 1, 2016 as per Setlist.FM. The Tedeschi Trucks Band debuted their take on the song from James Taylor’s sophomore studio album, 1970’s Sweet Baby James, on September 23, 2014 and played the tune regularly through 2016.
