Tame Impala Busts Out ‘Nothing That Has Happened So Far…’ At Innings Festival

Tame Impala delivered a headlining set for Innings Festival at Tempe Beach Park in Tempe, Arizona on Sunday. The group led by Kevin Parker dusted off “Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control” for the first time in over six years.

Parker and company kicked off the set with “One More Year” off Tame Impala’s Grammy-nominated 2020 album, The Slow Rush. The band also delivered Slow Rush tracks “Borderline,” “Breathe Deeper” and “Lost In Yesterday” during the course of the set. But the lion’s share of the song selection came from Tame Impala’s 2012 LP Lonerism and 2015’s Currents (also both nominated for Grammys).

“Elephant” and “Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” counted among the six songs off Lonerism. Currents cuts included “Let It Happen” and “Eventually,” the latter falling in the penultimate slot of the main set ahead of the “Nothing That Has Happened So Far Has Been Anything We Could Control” bust out. The song appears on Lonerism and was last played by Tame Impala on November 25, 2015, as per SetlistFM.

Parker led the band through the psychedelic rocker and presided over a spirited jam to close out the set. Tame Impala returned to deliver a two-song encore of Currents favorites “The Less I Know The Better” and “New Person, Same Old Mistakes.”
