FYF Fest 2016 :: 8. 27 – 28.16 :: Exposition Park :: Los Angeles, CA
The 13th annual FYF Fest was held last weekend in downtown Los Angeles at Exposition Park. Action began Saturday with performances by an eclectic lineup headlined by Australian rockers Tame Impala (who were briefly joined onstage by Lady Gaga) and local rapper Kendrick Lamar. The first day also saw performances by veteran French duo Air, psych-rock outfit Ty Segall & The Muggers, Norwegian DJ Todd Terje & The Olsens and several others. James Murphy and the reunited LCD Soundsystem co-headlined Sunday’s lineup along with fashion icon/dance music legend Grace Jones. Prior to those sets, singer-songwriter Father John Misty came through with a mostly straightforward appearance, while Anohni delivered an emotional audio/visual performance of his ‘Hopelessness,’ and The Screaming Eagle Of Soul Charles Bradley flew in from the Lockn’ Festival to play a set with His Extraordinaires.
