Sunday Cinema | Lollapalooza In Chicago

By Andy Kahn Mar 29, 2015 11:06 am PDT

In 2005 Perry Farrell transformed Lollapalooza from a travelling tour into a one weekend festival held annually in Chicago’s Grant Park. The previously successful early 1990s alternative tour had fallen on hard times after resurrecting in 2003, when the planned 2004 was cancelled due to low ticket sales. Now, 10 years after the first weekend in Chicago, Farrell (who also hosts South American iterations of Lolla) will again draw hundreds of thousands of people back to the Windy City the weekend of July 31 -August 2
Paul McCartney, Metallica, Florence + The Machine, Alabama Shakes, TV On The Radio, Gary Clark Jr. and The War On Drugs are among the many artists slated to appear at Lollapalooza this year. The full lineup is available via the Lollapalooza 2015 entry in the newly redesigned JamBase Festival Guide. For today’s Sunday Cinema we’ve rounded up performances from each of the Lollapaloozas held in Grant Park since the first festival there in Chicago in 2005.
