Shira Elias Helps The String Cheese Incident Reach ‘Higher Ground’ In Los Angeles

The String Cheese Incident brought out Cool Cool Cool vocalist Shira Elias during their concert last night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Elias was tasked with helping sing a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Higher Ground.”

Originally released on Stevie Wonder’s 1973 album Innervisions, “Higher Ground” has only been performed by SCI a handful of times, most recently in December 2022 with Antwaun Stanley providing guest vocals. Elias’ turn at singing “Higher Ground” with SCI came at the onset of last night’s second set at The Wiltern.

Tonight, The String Cheese Incident kicks off a two-night stand at The Sound in The Sound in Del Mar, California. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, who opened Thursday’s show in L.A., will also provide support at the two shows at The Sound.
