The String Cheese Incident Debut Talking Heads Cover & Jam With Floozies Duo In Broomfield

Colorado jam titans The String Cheese Incident continued New Year’s Run 2016 – 2017 at 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado on Friday night. The Floozies opened the action and later in the night the Hill brothers sat-in with Cheese.
SCI opened with “One Step Closer” and then played “Hi-Ho No Show,” an original they debuted earlier this year. “Until The Music’s Over” came next followed by “These Waves.” A huge surprise lay ahead as The String Cheese Incident unveiled their take on the Talking Heads classic “Nothing But Flowers” ahead of a “Shine” first set-closer.
Cheese was joined by The Floozies’ Matt Hill on guitar and Mark Hill on drums for the “Valley Of The Jig” that began the second set. A well-jammed “Come As You Are” followed along with Michael Kang’s “Sing A New Song.” Another 2016 debut, “Falling Through The Cracks” kept the music coming ahead of a set-closing sequence of “Land’s End,” “Let’s Go Outside” and “Restless Wind.” The String Cheese Incident ended the evening with a cover of Peter Gabriel’s “Shakin’ The Tree” as the encore.
