An audience recording of last night’s The String Cheese Incident March Madness Tour opening show in Reno has surfaced. Stream/download the recording below. An official recording of the performance is available via LiveCheese.com.
Colorado jam act The String Cheese Incident kicked off their March Madness Tour last night at Summit Pavilion at Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. SCI delivered two career-spanning sets loaded with fan favorites and a pair of covers as the encore.
The evening began with “Close Your Eyes” and a “Best Feeling” that featured an interesting transition into “Mouna Bowa.” Bassist Keith Moseley then led his mates through the beloved “Sometimes A River.” Rarity “Pack It Up” followed along with a “Colorado Bluebird Sky” set closer. SCI came out of the gates for the second set with “You’ve Got The World” and Moseley’s “Joyful Sound.” Later in the second set, the band treated fans to their version of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Hot ‘Lanta,” a cover they debuted on January 2 in Broomfield, Colorado. There were more covers ahead for the encore as The String Cheese Incident’s first take on Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster (Jammin’)” since January 29, 2015 gave way to the traditional “Sittin’ On Top Of The World.”
SCI now brings the March Madness Tour to Oakland for performances tonight and tomorrow at the Fox Theater.
