Strand Of Oaks Performs On ‘eTown’

Strand of Oaks recently performed for Boulder’s eTown radio program and video series. The project of singer-songwriter Timothy Showalter delivered four songs from his 2019 album Eraserland as well as a collaborative cover with fellow performer Anna Burch and eTown hosts Nick and Helen Forster.

To kick off the session, Showalter and company ease into the ethereal “Keys,” Eraserland’s second single, complete with pulsating organ. After a synth-laden intro, Showalter and his band bring the opening chords of “Ruby,” a more upbeat rocker. A piano intro brought the band into the album’s lead single “Weird Ways” before closing out with “Visions.”

For the finale, Strand Of Oaks and Burch teamed up with Nick and Helen Forster to pay tribute to The Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, who died in September. The artists collaborated on The Cars’ “Just What I Needed.” Check out that tune and a playlist of Strand Of Oaks’ performance below:
