Steve Martin & Steep Canyon Rangers Perform On ‘The Late Show’

Thursday night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert featured a performance by musical guests Steve Martin and Steep Canyon Rangers. The pair of acts were joined by a string section and host Stephen Colbert on a rendition of song on their recently issued collaborative album.
Last week the banjo playing comedian and six-piece backing band released “The Long-Awaited Album” featuring 12 songs they recorded together. The Steep Canyon Rangers – guitarist Woody Platt, percussionist Mike Ashworth, mandolin player Mike Guggino, bassist Charles Humphrey, banjo player Graham Sharp and fiddler Nicky Sanders – also backed Martin on 2011’s Rare Bird Alert, 2013’s Love Has Come For You and 2014’s Live.
Martin led a rendition of “The Long-Awaited Album” track “Caroline” while backed by a four-piece string section. Colbert joined in on vocals at the end of the performance, check it out below:
