Steve Earle & The Dukes Cover Justin Townes Earle’s ‘Harlem River Blues’ On ‘Kimmel’

Steve Earle and The Dukes performed on Thursday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. The band led by singer-songwriter Steve Earle covered “Harlem River Blues” by Earle’s late son Justin Townes Earle.

Justin Townes Earle died in August 2020 at age 38 from an accidental drug overdose. Steve Earle and The Dukes last week released the album J.T. consisting of 10 covers of songs written by Justin Townes Earle, as well as “Last Words,” which was written by Steve in honor of his son. Among the songs on J.T. is a cover of the title track to Justin’s 2010 album, Harlem River Blues.
