Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks will play a set at Light Rail Studios in San Francisco starting at 3 p.m. PT this afternoon. A free webcast of the band’s “afternoon delight set” is available via Stephen Malkmus’ YouTube channel. Watch the broadcast below:
Malkmus and his long-time band performed in the gathering space of Seattle radio station KEXP on May 21. KEXP shared professionally-shot of the set. The group’s visit to KEXP came just a few days after the release of their latest album Sparkle Hard. Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks played six songs from the LP starting with the fuzz-laden “Shiggy” and continuing with the contemplative “Cast Off.” Next came the throbbing “Bike Lane” and breezy “Refute.” The former Pavement frontman, bassist Joanna Bolme, drummer Jake Morris and multi-instrumentalist Mike Clark concluded the set with “Middle America” and “Solid Silk.”
