Steely Dan To Present Special Shows In New York City

While The Allman Brothers Band may have ended their career (for now at least) with one final residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last October, they aren’t the only band who’ve played residencies at the historic venue. Another of those groups, Steely Dan, has just announced their latest Beacon Theatre residency -an eight-show affair with a theme for each night.

The run begins on October 6 with a full performance of the band’s Aja LP along with “selected hits.” Then, on October 7, Steely Dan will focus on their greatest hits. On October 9, Donald Fagen & Co. will present a complete performance of Gaucho along with selected hits while the next night will find the Dan playing The Royal Scam in its entirety as well as selected hits. Aja will be performed again on October 13 and the October 14th show is another greatest hits affair. Fans get to help determine the setlist for October 16 at a concert with the theme “By Popular Demand,” while the October 17th finale features the theme “The Most Unforgettable Night of Whatever -Featuring Spectacular Musical Guests, Glorious Tunes and Riffage, and Whatever the Party Calls for! Parking Validated for First Dozen Diehard Fans.” We can’t wait to see what that’s all about.

An AMEX pre-sale runs May 28 -June 4 before tickets go on sale to the general public June 5. Multi-night ticket packages will be available.
