Watch Spafford Offer Chunky Eagles Cover In Charleston

Spafford concluded a two-night run in Charleston, South Carolina last Thursday. The Arizona-born jam quartet shared pro-shot video of “Those Shoes” into the original “Ain’t That Wrong” during night two at Charleston Pour House.

Spafford launched their second set “Those Shoes.” Written by Don Henley, Glenn Frey and Don Felder, “Those Shoes” is the seventh track on The Eagles 1979 album The Long Run.

In Charleston, Spafford bassist Jordan Fairless handled lead vocals on the Eagles tune. Following an excellent space-funk jam full of synth stylings from Cory Schechtman, drummer Nick Tkachyk revved the band up into the oldie “Ain’t That Wrong” captained by guitarist Brian Moss.

Spafford kicked off their second Charleston concert with a four-song first set beginning with a seamless sequence of “Giants in the Light,” “Gold Glittered Hat” and a cover of John Hiatt’s “Memphis In The Meantime.” The first frame concluded with the new song, “Frog Gossip.”

Following the “Those Shoes” > “Ain’t That Wrong” segment, the second set included “The Postman” and “Weasel” encompassing “Palisades.” Spafford capped the Charleston run with another new song, “Skyline.”
