One of the most unlikely tours in recent history ended on Sunday, when Soul Coughing closed out their first tour in 25 years at Terminal 5 in New York City. While the trek is over, the reunited band teased more to come.
Soul Coughing — Mike Doughty, Sebastian Steinberg, Mark degli Antoni and Yuval Gabay — brought their 18-date tour from coast to coast from September 11 through October 6. The quartet, which was founded in 1992 and broke up in 2000, shared a post on social media expressing gratitude to those who witnessed the tour.

“Thank you to the 25,000+ fans who came to the first Soul Coughing tour in 25 years,” wrote Mike, Sebastian, Mark and Yuval. The accompanying video ended with the words “See You Soon?” The location for the post also featured the same phrase.
Soul Coughing was formed in New York City. The band returned to their hometown to close out the tour with a show at Brooklyn Steel on Friday and two nights at Terminal 5.
Friday’s concert featured the tour debut of “Janine,” a track from their debut album, 1994’s Ruby Vroom. The quartet was joined on “Janine” by Rachel Murdy, who performed on the studio version of the song, at all three NYC concerts.
