Sombr returned to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, one year after making his television debut on the program. The 20-year-old mission performed his new single, “My Body Isn’t Ready,'” and sat for an interview.
The New York City native spoke to Jimmy Fallon about several topics last night, including his experience inducting Taylor Swift into the Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this month. Sombr performed two of Swift’s songs at the ceremony, “Dear John” and “Cardigan.”
The song choices were up to Sombr. “So, basically I was like, ‘Taylor, what songs do you want me to sing? You know, this is your night.’ And she was like, ‘no. You choose,’” he recalled. Swift’s response “really put the pressure on.” Sombr felt better after Taylor responded “perfect” when he told her what songs he picked.
Sombr will embark on his 2026 You Are The Reason North American Tour on July 22. The trek features a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden. Fallon was shocked when Sombr revealed he’s never seen a concert at the “World’s Greatest Arena” despite living in NYC.
“My Body Isn’t Ready” arrived today on all major streaming services. Sombr discussed the inspiration behind the song. “The song I wrote about something I’ve been struggling with my whole life, which is issues with my body image,” he explained. “Growing up and feeling like I looked different from the other kids in school, I always wanted a song that talked about that.”
