Brooklyn’s own Sister Sparrow recently returned to the stage following a year-long hiatus. An upcoming stop for the group will find them performing a pair of shows at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City on Thursday, April 26 and Friday, April 27. Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds have revealed they will play Aretha Franklin’s Live At The Fillmore LP in its entirety at the Bowl on Thursday night.
Franklin’s album, which was recorded in 1971, was one of six options put forward to fans in a vote to select which live album the band should play on the 26th. Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds have performed the LP’s “Dr. Feelgood” regularly in the past. The LP also features such gems as “Respect,” “Love The One You’re With,” “Reach Out & Touch” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Kat Wright kicks off the festivities on April 26, with Big Mean Sound Machine set to open on April 27.
