Dave Matthews Band frontman Dave Matthews appeared and performed on Monday’s episode of the Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM satellite radio. Stern revealed SiriusXM will soon launch the Dave Matthews Band Radio channel during Dave’s visit to his show.
Dave Matthews Band Radio will begin airing on SiriusXM’s channel 3 on Monday, July 2 at noon ET. The limited-run channel will broadcast music from throughout the group’s career in addition to live cuts, demos and songs from the band’s musical influences. Plus, Dave Matthews Band Radio will stream four live DMB concerts on Friday nights in July.
“We are proud to join forces with one of music’s most prolific performing artists to create Dave Matthews Band Radio,” said Steve Blatter, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Music Programming for SiriusXM. “The limited-run channel wouldn’t be complete without lots of live concert performances and we’re excited to bring DMB fans across North America a live concert from the band every Friday night in July.”
The DMB Friday Night Concert Series begins with a simulcast of the group’s performance at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana on July 6. Also included are broadcasts of DMB’s show at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, New York on July 13; at Coastal Credit Union Music Park At Walnut Creek in Raleigh, North Carolina on July 20 and at Coral Sky Amphitheatre at The South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach, Florida on July 27.
