Shigeru Miyamoto & The Roots Perform ‘Super Mario Bros. Theme’ On ‘Tonight Show’

Last night’s guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was Nintendo video game creator Shigeru Miyamoto. The episode featured the man behind such classic games as Donkey Kong, Zelda and Mario Bros. showing off his guitar skills during a collaboration with the house band The Roots.

Wednesday’s episode featured president of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aimé showcasing the game Super Mario Run while debuting the new Nintendo Switch game system created by Shigeru Miyamoto. Host Jimmy Fallon and Miyamoto went head-to-head playing Zelda on the new platform and later the acclaimed video game developer played acoustic guitar with The Roots on a rendition of the “Super Mario Bros. Theme.”
