Sarah McLachlan Is 1st Musical Guest On Newly Reinstated ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Sarah McLachlan was the musical guest on the newly reinstated Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday. The acclaimed singer-songwriter and pianist performed the title track from her new album, Better Broken.

Better Broken is Sarah McLachlan’s first album of new material in over a decade following 2014’s Shine On. The new record is the three-time Grammy winner’s 10th studio album overall and coincides with the release of Lilith Fair: Building A Mystery – The Untold Story, documenting the trailblazing festival McLachlan founded.

A press release described McLachlan’s Better Broken and its title track as “a soul-searching reflection on the fortitude that comes from weathering life’s constant storms – [Better Broken] furthers her legacy with a selection of songs that speak an uncompromising but radically illuminating truth about the state of the human condition.”

During the Los Angeles premiere of Lilith Fair: Building A Mystery – The Untold Story Sarah McLachlan and Jewel did not perform to show solidarity with free speech, the issue at the heart of Jimmy Kimmel Live being temporarily taken off the air (some ABC affiliate groups are still preempting the program).
