Sacred steel specialist Roosevelt Collier will bring the Roosevelt Collier Band to Charleston Pour House in Charleston, South Carolina on June 25 as part of a Summer Solstice Celebration. The band will be joined by special guest Andy Farag of Umphrey’s McGee on the 25th.
“It’s always a good time when the Umphrey’s guys are in the building,” Collier said. “They’ve invited me to play on their shows a bunch of times, so I had to give Andy a call. He’s the man.” Roosevelt’s band features Anthony Cole of JJ Grey & Mofro and bassist Matt Lapham of Shak Nasti and the trio will be making their Charleston debut. “These cats are some of the best in the business, man. And I don’t say that lightly. Over the years, we have all done our own thing touring with different groups and whatnot. But when it comes down to who’s in my band, these guys are it,” Collier explained.
Tickets for the Summer Solstice Celebration are on sale now via City Paper Tickets.
