The Rolling Stones seem to have revealed the title of their long-awaited new album via a newspaper ad for a fake glass repair company and accompanying website. The ad for Hackney Diamonds first appeared in the latest edition of east London paper the Hackney Gazette.

Many clues are hidden within the advert which the Hackney Gazette confirms was taken out by Universal Music Group, the conglomorate that handles The Rolling Stones’ music catalogue. Additionally, fans visiting HackneyDiamonds.com are asked to register for more information with Universal Music Group listed among the conditions and as the company sending the emails.

Other clues for an album that according to the advertisement and website arrives in September include The Stones’ iconic lips logo doting the “i” in “Diamonds” and references to beloved songs “Shattered,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” and “Gimme Shelter.” Furthermore, Hackey Diamonds was “Est. 1962,” the same year the legendary band was formed.

The forthcoming studio album would be the first since the blues covers collection Blue & Lonesome in 2016. The Rolling Stones’ previous LP of originals was 2005’s A Bigger Bang. A handful of singles followed with “Doom & Gloom” and “One More Shot” featured on the GRRR! compilation in 2012. More recently the group issued “Living In A Ghost Town” in 2020.

A number of guests are expected to appear on the upcoming LP, which is said to include contributions from late drummer Charlie Watts and will be the first to feature new drummer Steve Jordan. Not only did former bassist Bill Wyman participate in sessions but Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr did as well. Elton John is also expected to be on the album co-produced by Don Was and Andrew Watt.

Stay tuned for an official announcement.
