The Rolling Stones teamed with Major League Baseball to offer limited edition team vinyl versions of their new album Hackney Diamonds. The collectors’ item can be customized to feature art from fans’ favorite baseball clubs and comes in pocket jackets housing a single disc baseball white vinyl.
The Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds — the legendary rockers’ first album of original music since 2005’s A Bigger Bang — is set for release on October 20 during the MLB Postseason. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood recently shared the LP’s first single, “Angry,” along with a video starring Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria/The White Lotus).
Earlier this month, the band detailed the guests on the album including Lady Gaga, Elton John and Stevie Wonder. The record also contains contributions from former longtime bassist Bill Wyman as well as some of late drummer Charlie Watts’ final recordings.
The Stones continue the rollout with the limited MLB custom vinyl edition of Hackney Diamonds. A press release noted the rockers’ long history performing in storied homes and previous homes of MLB teams including Boston’s Fenway Park, New York’s Shea Stadium, Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium, RFK Stadium in Washington DC, Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Stadium, the Houston Astrodome and more.
