Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant announced the launch of Digging Deep, The Robert Plant Podcast. The legendary rocker’s podcast debuts on June 3 via iTunes, Spotify, Acast, YouTube and other podcast hosting platforms.
Plant will be joined on the podcast by host Matt Everitt. Each episode will feature Plant examining a track from storied career to detail the “inspiration, collaboration and intervention” that went into the creation of the song.
“Making records is a very personal experience,” Plant states in the video introducing the podcast. “I was so desperate to get away from that environment that I was saying, ‘let’s get out of here,’ but then now and again down the line opening up some of the songs and looking back at them I marvel at some of it. The players in the room were like out of sight and they found me to be something they hadn’t been used to dealing with …I’m going to be picking out some songs from here and there along the way mixing constant shifts in sound and intention. Men and women who encouraged and enlightened the themes and the stories … When I started looking into I realized that so much of it was so deep.”
