Non-profit organization Rex Foundation has announced details of the Fire on the Mountain Vertical Challenge ski race, which will be held in Squaw Valley, California on March 20. The event coincides with the first day of WinterWonderGrass California.

Rex Foundation advises, “The vertical challenge is not just a race, but a test of your endurance and strategy, where successful teams will ski/ride in excess of 100,000 vertical feet! Once you ski on all compulsory runs, take your pick of lifts and terrain to rack up vertical and enjoy one of the finest mountains in the world.” All proceeds will go to The Rex Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, with 50% of donations being allocated to charities local to the Olympic Valley / Truckee area.

Registration packages for both four-person teams and individuals are available through Eventbrite. Packages include a day-of (Friday) lift ticket for Squaw Valley, food voucher, VIP ticket for Friday of the WinterWonderGrass Festival including free craft beer from Sierra Nevada and Golden Road from 2:30 -5:30 p.m., access to the side stage heated viewing area with a private bar, happy hour bar pricing all night, custom VIP/ WWG laminate, one meal ticket per person for Moe’s BBQ dinner and access to a specialty keg tapped at the VIP tent just prior to the headliner performance.
