Report: Tool To Play New York City For First Time In Over A Decade

The 2017 installment of the Governor’s Ball Music Festival will be held on Randall’s Island in New York City on June 2 – 4. If a report from Consequence of Sound holds true, the event will host the city’s first Tool performance since 2006.
CoS’s sources reveal Tool are one of the headliners of Governor’s Ball ’17, which would not only mark the metal act’s return to NYC after more than a decade but first Northeast performance since 2012. Tool did play the All Points West festival in Jersey City in 2009 and New Jersey’s Izod Center in 2012, but haven’t performed within city limits since 2006. The publication reached out to representatives for the festival, who declined to comment except to say, “The full Governors Ball lineup will be announced early next year, at which point tickets will also go on sale.”
We’re still awaiting word from Tool of their follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days. Stay tuned for official word from the band and festival organizers. In the meantime watch Tool perform “Jambi” earlier this year in Charlotte thanks to ToolArchive:
