The plot thickens! Billboard has “a well-placed source” of its own who says LCD Soundsystem is “definitely reuniting” in 2016. CoS’s Alex Young also weighed in on the matter:

The label manager of Murphy and LCD Soundsystem’s DFA firmly denies the report:

On April 2, 2011 LCD Soundsystem ended a ten-year career with a sold-out, farewell concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. If a a new report from Consequence of Sound holds true, the band will reunite after a five-year breakup next year.

CoS notes multiple sources have confirmed the James Murphy-led project will return in 2016. The report goes on to say “the band will headline at least three high- profile music festivals in the US and UK, with an official announcement expected soon.” LCD Soundsystem’s reps could not confirm Consequence of Sound’s report as of press time.
