The Guns N’ Roses rumor mill has been in overdrive of late as the band’s website now features the old school Appetite For Destruction logo and mysterious teasers have been shown at movie theaters across the country. Now, Billboard reports a GNR lineup led by founding members Axl Rose and Slash will headline the 2016 installment of Coachella with other shows in the works.
Billboard reports multiple sources indicate not only will the band play Coachella, they will also perform the new Las Vegas Arena and are in discussions with promoters to bring a tour to as many as 25 football stadiums in North America over the summer. If Billboard’s report holds true, expect ticket prices to top out at the $250 – $275 range as GNR is asking for as much as $3 million per concert. As of now, there’s no definitive word on whether the other founding members of GNR will participate.
Axl and Slash last shared the stage in 1993. Past Coachella lineups have generally been revealed in early January, so we should know whether Billboard’s report is true soon. Stay tuned!
