Remembering Theryl ‘Houseman’ DeClouet – Spotify Playlist

Vocalist Theryl “Houseman” DeClouet passed away this week at the age of 66. The New Orleans-based singer was a founding member of Galactic, performing and recording with the acclaimed NOLA funk group from 1994 to 2004.

This edition of Saturday Stream celebrates Houseman’s work with Galactic and beyond, including his solo work and other collaborations. The collection features DeClouet’s contributions to Galactic’s 1996 debut album Coolin’ Off, as well as 1998’s Crazyhorse Mongoose, 2000’s Late For The Future and 2003’s Ruckus. Tracks from Galactic’s live album We Love ‘Em Tonight: Live at Tipitina’s, which was recorded in their hometown and released in 2001 are also part of the playlist.

Houseman’s 2001 solo album The Houseman Cometh, featuring several members of Galactic along with his 2007 solo LP The Time Iz Now are included within the playlist, as are his contributions to Charlie Hunter’s 2001 LP Songs From The Analog Playground.
