On Wednesday night, Radiohead began their 2018 tour at the massive Estadio Nacional in Santiago, Chile. The English band’s first performance since July was a 26-song affair featuring material from all of their studio albums with the exception of Pablo Honey.
Thom Yorke & Co. used an excerpt of “Treefingers” off Kid A as a lead in to “Daydreaming,” one of four songs from A Moon Shaped Pool Radiohead would play in Santiago. OK Computer was well represented on Wednesday by “Airbag,” “Exit Music (For A Film),” “Karma Police,” “Let Down” and “Paranoid Android.” The band’s 2007 LP In Rainbows was also the source of five songs played last night: “All I Need,” “Bodysnatchers,” “Nude,” “Reckoner” and “Weird Fishes/Arpeggi.”
Radiohead kicked off the night with 17-song main set that included favorites such as “Myxomatosis,” “Everything In Its Right Place,” “Street Spirit (Fade Out)” and “Idioteque.” Yorke then led the group through a six-song first encore featuring “Fake Plastic Trees,” “The Bends,” “Feral,” “Lotus Flower,” “Exit Music (For A Film)” and “Reckoner.” Wednesday’s concert concluded with a second encore of “Nude” and the aforementioned OK Computer classics “Paranoid Android” and “Karma Police.” The tour continues in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Saturday night.
