Purple Hatter’s Ball Announces Phase Two 2016 Lineup

The ninth annual Purple Hatter’s Ball music festival will again be held at the Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida on June 17 – 19. Benefiting the non-profit The Rachel Morningstar Foundation, which was founded for longtime Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park friend and music festival lover Rachel Morningstar Hoffman, today, the second phase of this year’s Purple Hatter’s Ball lineup has been announced.

Melvin Seals & JGB, Earphunk, Flat Land, Bedside and Heather Gillis Band have been added to this year’s three-day event. Drummer Allen Aucoin of the Disco Biscuits has also been confirmed to appear with MZG for a live band set. They join phase one acts such as Papadosio, The Floozies, The Polish Ambassador, DubConscious, The Mantras, Roosevelt Collier Band and The Hip Abduction, among many others.

Purple Hatter’s Ball ’16 will utilize three stages at Suwannee including the famed Amphitheater Stage, a Beach Stage located along the wild black water Suwannee River and a Campground Stage, which will morph into the Silent Disco late night. Festivalgoers are encouraged to take advantage of the park’s many activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, biking and disc golf. A PHB tradition will continue when Rachel’s loving mother, Margie Weiss (aka Mama Margie), leads an emotional ceremony celebrating her daughter’s memory. Each year they release 24 monarch butterflies – 23 to represent Rachel’s age when she was taken from this world and one for her spirit that lives on.
