Newly formed supergroup Prophets Of Rage held their first concert at the storied West Hollywood night club Whisky A Go Go on Tuesday night, and last night played their second show at the Hollywood Palladium with proceeds benefiting PATH (People Assisting The Homeless). The band featuring Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk and frontmen B-Real of Cypress Hill and Chuck D of Public Enemy as well as DJ Lord will be holding their third performance at a surprise set at Governors Ball Sunday evening.

The formerly billed “Special Guest” set slated for tomorrow at the Bacardi House Stage at 6:30 p.m. will be the new supergroup’s first festival performance. Sunday is the final day of the three-day Governors Ball Music Festival held at Randall’s Island Park in New York City.

Earlier this week, Morello told Bloomberg Politics the new band plans to crash the Republican National Convention later this summer. The guitarist revealed the band’s plans to be in Cleveland for the event being staged at the Quicken Loans Arena on July 18 – 21, stating:

Well there’s a thing called the Republican National Convention in July, and that will be a perfect place for a band like Prophets of Rage to cause a ruckus, and we will be there on the streets, in the field. We have a venue and there may be venues that will be spontaneous venues – it’s hard to say. This is the kind of thing you don’t broadcast to the local authorities prior to arrival.
