On May 28 and 29 Perpetual Groove ended a two-year hiatus with two shows at the Georgia Theatre in Athens. This weekend the quartet continues their reunion with a pair of performances at the State Theatre in St. Petersburg, Florida. In honor of the upcoming shows, let’s look back at pro-shot footage from PGroove’s May 29th show in Athens featuring two of the group’s most beloved songs.

“It Starts Where It Ends” is essentially the title track of Perpetual Groove’s fourth album –LIVELOVEDIE. The emotion-laden original shows off Brock Butler’s soulful vocals and guitar work and has been a centerpiece of PGroove shows since it was first debuted. “Only Always” is another PGroove original that tugs on the heartstrings and shows that the quartet is among the best jam acts when it comes to putting a traditional song together. Watch the “Only Always” from Athens:

In other news, Butler and multi-instrumentalist Matt McDonald will appear on WMNF community radio tonight between 10:15 p.m. ET and 10:45 p.m. ET to discuss the Florida gigs. Following PGroove’s shows in St. Petersburg, the band has performances planned in North Carolina, Ohio, New York, South Carolina, Colorado and Georgia.
