Soulive recently completed an eight-show Bowlive residency at Brooklyn Bowl in New York City that saw the jazz-rock trio welcome old friends and new collaborators. Guitarist Marcus King was among the musicians who made their Bowlive debut in 2017 and the venue has shared professionally-shot video featuring one of the highlights from his time on stage.
South Carolina native Marcus King was scheduled as one of Soulive’s guests for the penultimate show of the run this past Friday, June 16. King also made a surprise appearance one night earlier. On Friday, Soulive welcomed Marcus for most of the first set including a blazing cover of “Whipping Post” by the Allman Brothers Band. The guitarist was in fine voice throughout and nailed the dual leads with Eric Krasno as well as a lengthy solo. Neal Evans also shined with a powerful organ solo.
