Last night an impressive array of performers and celebrities came together at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin for a fundraiser dubbed Harvey Can’t Mess With Texas: A Benefit Concert For Hurricane Harvey Relief, with proceeds going to benefit the Rebuild Texas Fund. The stacked line-up included performances from the likes of Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, and Leon Bridges with Charlie Sexton serving as the musical director and Asleep At The Wheel sitting in as the house band.

Collaboration highlighted last night’s broadcast with Willie Nelson teaming up with both Bonnie Raitt and Leon Bridges early on. Nelson opened the broadcast with Raitt for a take on “Texas Flood,” which was originally recorded by Larry Davis back in 1958, but is better known to contemporary audiences as the title-track to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s 1983 debut album. Nelson than than teamed up with Bridges for a gorgeous take on “Funny How Time Slips Away.” James Taylor was joined by Raitt to duet on “You Can Close Your Eyes,” from his 1971 release Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon. While Paul Simon invited out his wife Edie Brickell for “Waltz Across Texas,” a tune that was made famous by Ernest Tubb.

Watch the full hour-long broadcast below, which also includes performances from Lyle Lovett and Ha*Ash, and for those interested you can still donate to the Rebuild Texas Fund – here.
