Last night Icelandic post-rock group Sigur Rós held a concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles as part of the Reykjavik Festival. The first set featured the backing of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and professionally-shot video footage of the entire concert is currently available.

Conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra joined the trio on such career-spanning selections as “Á,” “Starálfur,” “Takk + Glósóli,” “Hrafntinna,” “Ekki mukk” and “Festival.” Guest arrangers of the orchestral works included Dan Deacon, Anna Meredith, Missy Mazzoli, Owen Pallett, Nico Muhly and others. Following an intermission, guitarist and lead singer Jónsi Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm and drummer Ágúst Gunnarsson returned to deliver a second set beginning with “Sæglópur.” The Sigur Ros solo set also included performances of “Ný Batterí,” “Vaka,” “E-Bow,” “Kveikur” and “Popplagið.”
