Throughout the evening King was joined by Asheville-based musicians such as Kyle Snuffer and Derrick Johnson on trombone, Alex Bradley on trumpet, Dean Mitchell on saxophone, Patrick Armitage on drums, Josh Clark and Daniel Iannucci on bass, Alex Taub on keyboards, Caitlin Krisko on vocals, Aaron Austin and Josh Blake on guitar and multi-instrumentalists Kyle Travers, Eric Travers and Matt Williams. The show featured King leading the collective on many blues standards such as “Born Under A Bad Sign” and other lively covers like Sly & The Family Stone’s “If You Want Me To Stay” and a take on “Compared To What” dedicated to Col. Bruce Hampton that included Williams on electric violin.
