The Prince Estate announced the release of Timeless, a posthumous collection of rare and unreleased vault recordings due out on August 28 in partnership with Legacy Recordings. The record is previewed today with the single, “Stone.”
The aptly named Timeless is the first Prince LP to capture every era of his iconic career. The record includes cuts “from his earliest studio recordings as a teenage prodigy in Minneapolis to one of his final recorded performances,” press materials noted.
News of Timeless coincides with Prince Celebration 2026, marking 10 years since the legendary musician’s passing, set to take place at his Paisley Park home and in his hometown of Minneapolis June 3-7.
As the official launch for Timeless, “this year’s Celebration will feature exclusive listening sessions, archival presentations, and conversations with Prince collaborators, offering unprecedented insight into the newly unveiled Vault recordings and the stories behind them,” as per the press release.
Following the release of the 1991 recording “With This Tear” in April, the Prince Estate now shares “Stone,” a collaboration with songwriters Sandra St. Victor, Tom Hammer and Jules Van Even. Listen below:
