Tank and the Bangas frontwoman Tarriona “Tank” Ball joined forces with Preservation Hall Jazz Band to deliver a fresh spin on the National Anthem before last night’s NCAA men’s basketball championship game in New Orleans. The hometown musicians went the jazzy route for their “The Star-Spangled Banner” performance at Caesars Superdome on Monday.
The two-minute rendition proceeded an exciting battle between the Kansas Jayhawks and North Carolina Tar Heels. Kansas won the title with a 72 – 69 victory over North Carolina.
Tank And The Bangas are gearing up to release a new album entitled Red Balloon on May 13, while Preservation Jazz Band will spend the summer opening for Josh Groban.
