Portugal. The Man swung by The Triple Door in Seattle to perform for independent radio station KEXP’s Live on KEXP series. The Portland-based band offered songs from their 2023 album Chris Black Changed My Life and more.
Portugal. The Man released Chris Black Changed My Life on June 23. Two months later the Wasilla, Alaska-born, Portland-based band headed up to Seattle for their Live on KEXP performance.

The 9-piece group — guitarists John Gourley and Eric Howk, keyboardist Rob Aarujo, saxophonist Machado Mijiga, bassist/percussionist Kyle O’Quin, bassist/percussionist Zachary Scott Carothers, guitarist Ray Fraizer, drummer Vincent Li Rocchi and vocalist Zoe Manville — offered seven of the 11 tracks off Chris Brown Changed My Life: “Grim Generation,” “Dummy,” “Summer Of Luv,” “Ghost Town,” “Plastic Island,” “Champ” and “Anxiety:Clarity.”
Portugal. The Man concluded the session with “So American” off their 2011 album, In the Mountain in the Cloud. Watch the band perform Live on KEXP below:
