Pond closed their North American headline run in support of their new album, Terrestrials, at The Bellwether in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. The Australian band ended the show with a rarely played cover of MC5’s “Kick Out The Jams.”

Pond released Terrestrials, their 11th studio album, on June 19 through their Mangovision imprint. The lineup of Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joe Ryan, Jamie Terry and James Ireland launched their tour supporting the album in Atlanta on July 10. Former member, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, rejoined his former bandmates on drums at their recent show in Austin.

Pond opened The Bellwether concert with “Skyworks” and “Casuarina,” the first two tracks on Terrestrials, and later played “Through The Heather” and “Two Hands” from the album.

The main set drew on earlier material as well, including “Sweep Me Off My Feet,” “Daisy,” “Whatever Happened To The Million Head Collide,” “Paint Me Silver,” “The Weather” and “Giant Tortoise.” Pond also worked in “Human Touch” from 2021’s 9 and closed the main set with “Toast” from the same album.

Record of Pond playing “Kick Out The Jams” dates as far back as 2012. The song served as the title track to the MC5’s seminal garage rock album released by the influential Detroit band in 1969.
