On February 3 Pink Talking Fish will make their Capitol Theatre debut at the historic Port Chester, New York venue. The band has enlisted a number of guests to present a full rendition of the soundtrack to the Talking Heads’ concert film Stop Making Sense with Phish and Pink Floyd songs intertwined within.
The roster of guests revealed thus far includes funk legend Leo Nocentelli of The Meters, the Turkuaz horn section, Shira Elias and Sammi Garett of Turkuaz, Jen Durkin of Deep Banana Blackout, Jon Braun of Start Making Sense and Adrian Tramontano of Kung Fu. Reed Mathis & Electric Beethoven featuring Jay Lane, Todd Stoops and Clay Welch have been tapped as support.
PTF founder Eric Gould weighed in on the event, “Pink Talking Fish has performed a handful of albums in our career but Stop Making Sense has been one that we have been waiting for just the right moment to release. The album itself is a mammoth. Adding Phish and Pink Floyd songs in the mix creates a 3 plus hour show that will challenge the musicians on a deep level.
I played a nonstop 5 ½ hour show at Bonnaroo with Particle in 2003 and, to this day, the experience of that marathon performance remains treasured in my heart and soul. I am so excited to make this event happen with Pink Talking Fish and create an extended live experience involving some of the most exciting songs in music as well as some of our favorite special guests to share the ride!”
Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 16 at 12 p.m. ET via Ticketfly.
