Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Welcome Here Come The Mummies Horns & Wes Bailey In Nashville
The horns added to the backend of PPPP’s lone set at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville after the Moon Taxi keyboardist lent a hand on “Su Casa.”

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong completed a two-night stand at Brooklyn Bowl Nashville on Sunday night. The band delivered a one-set performance last night that included guest appearances from Wes Bailey of Moon Taxi and the Here Come the Mummies Horns.
Bailey contributed keys to “Su Casa” off PPPP’s recently released studio album, Perspective, after the band went it alone to open with a run of “In The Bubble,” “Fox And Toad” and “Porcupine.” The Nashville-based musician’s guest spot was followed by the second performance of new song “Overtime” and beloved jam vehicle “Poseidon.”
The set rolled on with rarity “This Is That,” which was last played on February 29, 2020 and has only been performed five times since its debut in 2012 as per Phantasy Tour. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong then brought out the Here Come The Mummies Horns for the rest of the frame.
The Here Come The Mummies Horns have made frequent guest appearances with PPPP and added to songs on each of the four-piece’s last two studio albums. First, the horns reprised their contribution to Perspective lead single “Elephante” in Nashville and provided a brassy feel to “Dawn A New Day.” Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and the Here Come The Mummies Horns then closed out the set by working a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” into “King Kong,” a track from 2020’s Pizazz featuring the horns.
Pigeons Playing Ping Pong put an exclamation point on the evening by treating fans to a guest-less rendition of new original “The Town.” The quartet premiered “The Town” in Berkeley, California on March 12.
