Phosphorescent (Matthew Houck) will release The BBC Sessions, a new EP containing five tracks performed for BBC Radio in 2011 and 2013, via Dead Oceans on June 11. Houck previewed the EP by unveiling his previously unreleased version of “Song For Zula” from the set.
The BBC Sessions opens with “Song For Zula,” a stripped-down take recorded back in 2013, the same year the track appeared on Phosphorescent’s Muchacho album. Muchacho is also represented by “Terror In The Canyons (The Wounded Master)” from the same 2013 session held in London.

“At Death, A Proclamation” from 2007’s Pride is one of three tracks recorded for BBC Radio in London in 2011 that closes out The BBC Sessions. The set also includes intimate performances of Here’s To Taking It Easy (2010) stunners “Los Angeles” and “We’ll Be Here Soon.”
