Phoebe Bridgers Collaborates With Jackson Browne, Covers John Prine For ‘Spotify Singles’

Singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers kicks off a week of “Spotify Singles” releases from Best New Artist nominees in advance of Sunday’s 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Bridgers recorded a new version of her original “Kyoto” featuring special guest Jackson Browne as well as a cover of John Prine’s “Summer’s End” for her “Spotify Singles” set.
“Kyoto” from Bridgers’ 2020 album, Punisher, is up for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song Grammys. Additionally, Punisher is among Best Alternative Album nominees.

Phoebe recently collaborated with Browne at the Tibet House 2021 Virtual Benefit Concert. Last summer, Bridgers performed Prine’s “Summer’s End” for SiriusXM. Phoebe is joined by vocalist Maria Taylor on “Summer’s End” for her “Spotify Singles” release. John Prine wrote the song about the opioid epidemic for his final album, The Tree Of Forgiveness.
Bridgers’ fellow Best New Artist nominees CHIKA (today), D Smoke (Wednesday, March 10), Noah Cyrus (Thursday, March 11) and Ingrid Andress (Friday, March 12) will also be featured in new “Spotify Singles” releases this week.
