Phoebe Bridgers covered Bruce Springsteen last night during her concert at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Bridgers began the encore at The Boss’ home turf by covering “Stolen Car” for the first time.
Springsteen originally released “Stolen Car” as part of his 1980 album, The River. An alternate version, recorded in 1979, was later released as part of the 1998 compilation box set Tracks.
Bridgers, who covered Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire” in Asbury Park in 2018, performed “Stolen Car” solo on electric guitar. She followed the location-appropriate cover with a show-closing version of “Waiting Room.”
