Phish Game Shows Coming To Magnaball Festival

Phish will soon host the band’s tenth festival Magnaball at Watkins Glen International race track in Watkins Glen, New York. Today, the festival’s Twitter feed (Follow Friday – Phish Magnaball) announced details of an installation dubbed “Studio X” that will feature game shows and yoga.

On Friday and Sunday starting at 11 a.m. Magnaball’s Studio X will host Survey Says, a take on Family Feud in which teams of four will compete against each other to answer general knowledge questions about Phish. Head here to complete a survey that will be used to generate the answers for Survey Says. On Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. Magnaball’s Studio X will host Subtle Sounds – a name that Phish game show. Fans participating in Subtle Sounds will battle it out identifying a Phish song just by a few notes. If you can tell the difference between “David Bowie” and “Maze” in a split second this game show is for you. Organizers are looking for “54 knowledgeable contestants to battle it out for a cavalcade of Phish prizes and, for one lucky fan, ultimate bragging rights.” Contestant registration starts at 11:00 a.m. at Studio X. Subtle Sounds is free to play but spots are limited to 54 contestants, so arrive early if you’re interested in securing a spot.

In addition to the game shows, Magnaball organizers will provide free yoga sessions at Studio X on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. It has also been revealed breweries Sierra Nevada, Hill Farmstead, Lawson’s Finest and Sixpoint will be on hand to sell their beers as part of the first-ever “Before You Slip Into The Night, You’ll Want Something To Drink” cocktail program. The program’s Genius Bar will feature a handful of inventive drinks using the best locally-sourced supplies and crafted by a crack team of NYC professionals down for the cause. Cocktails include Satan on the Beach, Coconuts & Chloroform, Mule Duel, and The Red, Red Worm, just for starters.
