Phil & Friends Fare Thee Well Pre-Compression Webcast & Recap
By Scott Bernstein Jun 7, 2015 • 3:00 pm PDT

Terrapin Crossroads is offering a Pay-Per-View webcast of this evening’s performance for $7. Lesh and his band -which features guitarists Neal Casal, multi-instrumentalist Jon Graboff, keyboardist Adam MacDougall and drummers Ezra Lipp and Alex Koford -are expected to take the stage around 8 p.m. PT. The page where you can purchase the webcast notes the band will be joined by guests. Last night that guest was Terrapin Crossroads regular Stu Allen.
Saturday’s show featured Phil Lesh and the same band he’ll perform with tonight. Phil Lesh & Friends presented two sets filled only with originals from the Grateful Dead’s “Primal Dead,” (1967 -1968) and “Workingman’s Beauty” (1969 -1971) eras. In fact, the newest song the bassist and his ensemble played last night was debuted by the Grateful Dead in 1971. Both sets contained plenty of open-ended material such as “Dark Star,” “The Other One” and “Alligator” leaving plenty of room for improvisation from the talented group.
